Sensibilis is

an art residency taking place in «early childhood spaces» (nursery, pediatric practice, hospitals, etc.)organised by the company BE and its founder Caroline Duval.

For one week, instead of working in the studio space on her own, Étoile Chaville was immersed in a nursery at Cagnes sur Mer in the south of France.

She was making her artistic research on the «Josephine Baker – Mirror and Shadow» performance project among children from a very young age (between 8 months and 3 years old).

The residency was echoing Josephine Baker’s «Rainbow Tribe ». The star had adopted 12 children from around the world and raised them together to prove that racial harmony was possible.
The residency was funded by the French Ministry of Culture.

On this page, you can see pictures of the final performance at the Castle in Cagnes sur Mer taken by photographer Eric Clément Demange.
